the sprinklifier story

Sprinklifier was created by Peter Bennett, born out of the need to simply and efficiently water the medium-sized English-style suburban garden of his family home in Shaker Heights, OH. An in-ground sprinkler system seemed too complex and expensive, while hose-end sprinklers were not flexible enough. The breakthrough came when he realized that, standing almost anywhere in the garden, he could reach every point with a jet of water projected upwards between vertical and 45%, and that – from a single location – he could control the jet so that it watered the areas he wanted. He set out to mimic this process mechanically, the result – after progressively simplifying and streamlining the design – being Sprinklifier, powered by the principle of the thrashing water/air hose, and controlled by interchangeable discs that limit the movement of the jet to the area to be watered.

Sprinklifier is equally at home as a semi-permanent fixture, secured with a spike, located in a bed, watering both the bed and the adjacent lawn. Two or three Sprinklifiers can water a typical yard, with no need to move them for mowing.
